Birds of a Feather

I'm not really a feather person, but there is something about this blush crystal clutch that is so alluring and romantic. Like a work of art, this Valentino clutch is a major investment. And with a price tag of $4,170 this bag is already sold out.

Priddy bird...

Meditation of the Day

"When we choose to face our challenges of the day with fear and apprehension, it’s like putting up antennae designed to attract just that – fear and apprehension. We start each day with a self-sabotage signal. However, another frequency exists which broadcasts our best self, and we can tune our antennae to this frequency anytime we choose.

When we awake each morning seeing challenges as opportunities to grow, we’ll change our signal to enthusiasm, and receive an enthusiastic response from the Universe. This not only breaks our pattern of self-sabotage, but sets us up for success."

Go Green.. I Mean Blue!

Now this is a cool thing!

Bring in any unwanted denim to your local GAP store and receive 30% off a new pair of 1969 jeans.

I think I may do that!

Now question is... if I bring in 3 pairs of old jeans do I get 90% off? Gilly...

Cooking For Two

Now that I've unpacked, and the house is more or less in order, I have been thoroughly enjoying my new big kitchen, and have been cooking fresh meals from scratch a few nights a week for me and my boyfriend!

Some meals I just whip up myself, like an arugula salad with sliced green apples, walnuts, and gorgonzola. For the main course: a white fish cooked with tomatoes, black olives, and capers seasoned with salt and pepper and served with toasty French bread. It actually turned out really delish! Well.. I almost started a small fire because I burnt the bread to a black brick on round 1 (I'm still getting acclimated to the oven), round 2 bread was much better..

Other times I watch Food Network shows so intently it were as if I were studying for the Series7 Exam (which my sis is currently studying for). I love Rachel Ray's 30 Minute Meals and Giada At Home.

Last week I tried this recipe for Carrot Ginger Soup.

I was recovering from dental surgery plus it was cold and rainy, so this was the perfect winter concoction. I was really nervous to cook a soup from scratch but it turned out delicious (and healthy!) and was really simple. In short put the veggies in the blender on 'chop', put the veggies in a big pot with chicken stock to a boil, then when the veggies are soft and cooked, it goes back in the blender this time on 'puree'. Add some cream and stir. And instead of using fresh ginger, I used ginger spice instead which gave it a kick.

Tonight I am going to make Spring Green Risotto. Keeping my fingers crossed that it turns out okay!

Shut The Eff Up!

I want all of this!!!!

MAC's 'A Tartan Tale' holiday cosmetics collection. Plaid, like candy, is a total weakness for me! The collection includes everything! From nail polish, brushes, eye shadow quads, lipgloss, and blush compacts in colors like 'Style Clan', 'Hearts-A-Beatin', and 'Radiant Jewels'. Mommy likey!

I get $25 gift certificates to Bloomingdale's every time I spend $$ on my Bloomingdale's Visa (which, mind you, is just like a regular credit card!). I thought I was gonna spend my credits on this MAC collection but now it seems that A Tartan Tale has trumped Disney. The line comes out first week of November and I will be eagerly awaiting.

With Love,

Katy Perry Nail Polish

Katy Perry is known for her creative nail polish choices (hello Russel Brand's face), so it's no suprise that she is coming out with her own nail polish line. The Katy Perry Collection by OPI will include five shades ($9 each) to be sold at Ulta stores come January.

The shades are Teenage Dream: pink sparkle, Not Like the Movies: silver metallic, Last Friday Night: sheer blue glitter; The One That Got Away, shimmer crimson; and Black Shatter: a black top coat that crackles to create a textured look.

Looks cute!

Double Rainbow!!!

Here's the backstory on how I came to find this incredible video:

It's been gorgeous weather here in sunny California, and then out of nowhere (last week) there was a thunderous rain storm, in which a double rainbow appeared outside my window! Amazed and in awe I snapped some pics on my Blackberry and sent it to my family and BF.

Days later, I was at tea with a girlfriend and showing her something in my phone when the double rainbow pic resurfaced.. so I showed it to her, and it was she who asked if I saw the infamous double rainbow video. I hadn't seen it or even heard of it! Sometimes I'm reluctant to YouTube videos out of fear that the videos are too disgusting or offensive, which has happened in the past and then I have to watch a Disney movie or go through pages of CuteOverload in order 'de-thaw' myself from the traumatic imagery.

THIS VIDEO, however, is sucha-good-one! I was smiling the whole time while watching it!

Question is, how high was he?!

Jewel Mint

Kate Bosworth and her stylist Cher Coulter have teamed up and created a jewelry collection and a unique online jewelry membership called JewelMint.

How it works: members pay $29.99 a month and receive one piece of designer jewelry of their choosing. The jewelry retails for about $100+, so if you sign up for membership you're essentially saving 70%!

I love Kate Bosworth - she has great style and am excited about this new business
venture for her. I'm just not sure if I want a new piece of costume jewelry every month...

As much as I love jewelz... I may be more of a cheese club membership kinda gal!

What do you think?
