Rolling In The Deep

{ADELE in Vogue March 2009}

Last night I fell asleep on the couch at around 10:30pm while watching 30Rock. I was in a pink-sauce-pasta induced food coma. Anyway, when I woke up at 1:30 to collect my boyfriend (playing video games in his man cave aka office) THIS SONG, video below, was playing on TV. I had heard it before, but wasn't sure who it was.

This morning, I woke up with a smile and a craving (like the kind after a great first date) with an inkling that the heavenly song was by Adele. Behold, I itunes'd it and I was correct.

THANK YOU ADELE.

The Man Repeller

OMG you guys! This bitch is brilliant. And you know I never use bad words! (= emphasis!)

ManRepeller is my new favorite blog. OBSESSED!!!!!!!!!!

The concept behind The Man Repeller:
ward off men by means of wearing ridiculous haute couture, a la Chanel yak fur to our left.

The blog's author, Leandra Medine (below) is a Yeshivah high school come Parsons New School educated gal, but that's not why we love her! It's her personable voice, hysterical writing, and authenticity that had me at hello-harem-pants.

J'ADORE.

Sweet Girl Gifts

Aside from the religious and spiritual meaning of the holidays (duh), there are so many little things that I love about this time of year. Twinkle lights, holiday music (playing on SiriusXM Love channel - so good!), a lit fireplace, and presents to name a few!!!

While I received these fabulous items (below) as housewarming gifts, I thought I would share with you some of my favorites, just in case you're in search of the perfect last minute stocking stuffer.
Voluspa crisp champagne double wick candle and 'Shine Eternally' matchbook (from my dear friend Brooke, now in our guest bathroom)

William-Sonoma Ginger Spice Cookies (from my friend Kat).

These are amazing!!! They are melt-in-your-mouth delicious and come in cute little shapes like boots and Christmas trees. They're so thin it's like the calories don't really count, right?!

Henri Bendel peony scented travel candle (thanks Abbie!). I am a candle connoisseur and this candle is my new favorite. The fragance is heavenly and there is something about candlelight that is so relaxing and peaceful (especially in this rainy winter weather). I can't wait to try the other fragrances like Fig, Gardenia, Vanilla Bean, and Lavender Leaves.

Taschen Living In Morocco coffee table book.

My friend Tiffany knew how much my summer trip to Morocco had inspired me, and this book is filled with the most gorgeous imagery of Mediterranean interiors.

Below, Martha Stewart's Chunky Knit Throw (in Ivory from my friend Sara). The most scrumptious of blankets.

Also one of my favorites is Keiki Co.'s luxury throws. I have two. My mom has six. They're addictive.

And last but not least, from my seesther (sister) A POPCORN MAKER!!! Popcorn is my favorite snack and therefore sentimental to me. This gift was the best!!!

Britney Will Always Be My Idol

Tonight we (bf & I) were driving to dinner (Peppone's in Brentwood) to celebrate my sister passing the Series7 exam (which is like passing the bar but in the world of finance) when I was listening to holiday music on the radio.. a Britney Spears rendition of a holiday song... and it made me reflect on...

How much I love Britney.

I really do. I am so grateful for Brit. She is my number 1 - always will be (#2-5: Lady GaGa, Brigitte Bardot, Madonna, Carrie Bradshaw).

I've met Britney twice. The first time she was in her prime, she was wearing a cut off wife beater, low rise pants and a fedora. This was at a private party. We were sitting together at a small table of 5. She bummed a cigarette from me. I randomly had Cartier cigarettes with me. As I handed her a cig and a light I secretly died inside. OMG!!!! The second time she was kind of a hot mess (but we don't judge) with black hair, drunk at LAX nightclub.

Anyway, my eternal love for Brit inspired me to share this shrine of pics with y'all. Enjoy!

Oh My God you guys, I love her so much.

Salma Is A Hottie

Salma Hayek for V Spain Magazine wearing Alexander McQueen and photographed by Karl Lagerfeld. She is gorgeous. The dresses are insane. Plus, I'm a sucker for McQueen and cap sleeves.

And if you haven't seen Salma's infamous table dance in From Dusk Till Dawn (1996), it's pretty redic. Her beauty is mesmerizing. If you didn't have lesbian tendencies before... you will now!

The Tread-Meal

My boyfriend and sister have long marveled at my pronounciation of the word 'treadmill' which they claim I say as 'treadmeal'. I'm sure Freud could decipher that in his sleep. Well now, there's a whole new meaning to the Tread-Meal.

My new favorite thing:
working out while watching cooking shows (is that weird?!!)

My favorite ladies of the FoodNetwork: Giada de Laurentis, Paula Deen, respectively my numbers 1 and 2, and Ina Garten and Rachel Ray tie for 3rd place. Giada at Home and Every Day Italian are Giada's shows - she's the best. Her kitchen is clean and pretty and she's just my favorite (pictured below).

If you don't know who Paula Deen is, she's also the best. She's essentially the fairy godmother of butter - she's hilar. And I love her pudgy fingers with all her diamond rings.

Ladies, lemme tell you cooking shows is where it's at! With so much trash/gossip on TV, I find cooking shows very relaxing and pleasant to watch. And if you can break out a sweat in the process, hey I'm all about it!

{Paula Deen. So sassy.}

I'm Too Pretty For This

Meet Tiffany. She is a brilliant writer, has exceptional style, and gorgeous long hair (real).. and she's my friend. And she's gonna be the creative director of my budding fashion/art empire. Where were we? Oh ya! HER BLOG:

I'mTooPrettyForThis

Unlike my blog, which is mostly visual candy, I'mTooPrettyForThis is text candy. So take your sweet time. With weekly topics such as: #WhiteGirlWednesday, and #ModelMondays - what's not to like?! Check her out. It's brilliant.

Strike A Pose

Natalie Portman graces the cover of Vogue's January 2011 magazine wearing a J.Mendel chiffon dress. For some reason this image reminds me of Botticelli's The Birth of Venus painting. Is it the pose? The softness in her stance? Color of the dress? Hmmm... it's something...
