Oh Yes I Did!

When I was in Beverly Hills a couple weeks ago picking up this most fabulous Vuitton bikini, I stopped into Miu Miu, a favorite (possible top 3) line.

I fell in love instantly with this distressed sequin clutch.

I left the store that day empty handed but my new love remained with me.

I dreamed of this clutch. I looked at pictures online as if I were stalking an ex-boyfriend on Facebook! I would open the internet browser, look at pictures.. gazing intently, click around, sigh, then close the computer.

And then I put outfits together that just.. didn't seem complete without this clutch! It would look great with this black dress! Or my ripped jean jacket! Or this pink top! I even twittered a picture of it!

There was a whole in my soul... And alas, I couldn't take it any longer...

I went back to MiuMiu just to visit. I certianly wasn't going to buy it! Just look. Maybe it wasn't as cute in person as I had originally thought. Maybe it would be too small!

But no.

It was as amazing as ever. Equal parts glam and hippie. Black yet multicolored. Casual yet dressy. Fabulous yet fabulous.

I bought the bag. And we lived happily ever after.

Best Website Ever

Everyone knows I am a beebee animal lover fanatic. See here.

Well, look what I just came across... CUTE ROULETTE!!!

Just spent 34 minutes on it. Check it out. It will make you happy.

Most Expensive Bikini I Now Own

I was flipping through April's Vogue, when I pointed and said aloud, "I want that"!

I was referring to Lara Stone's body. (I kid.) Well.. it was both the bod and the bikini.

Normally, (until I am a millionaire, of course) a $560 bikini is out of the question. However, I had a credit at Louis Vuitton. The gold tassel keychain that my boyfriend got me as a birthday gift broke twice! So the store gave me a credit instead third time around...

Thus I am the proud owner of this most expensive ikat monogram bikini.

Happy face. End of story.

In Yoga

I just returned home from a delicious yoga class and thought I'd share with you this fabulous yoga studio, In Yoga!

I met Kelly, one of the studio owners, during the holidays at a trunk show where I was selling my namesake line of crystal hair accessories LoveBerman.

Anyhow, we got to talking and realized that her new yoga studio was in my new neighborhood! Just a 5 minute drive down Laurel Canyon! Aside from its convenient proximity, the studio is gorgeous, full of natural light and offers a wide range of classes from stretch yoga to advanced 90 minute classes. They have a really cute gift shop and there is lots of free parking in the back!

I highly recommend it! J'adore!!

Namaste.

Sweet Santa Barbara

This weekend, my boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary (we go by our first date) with a quick weekend getaway to Santa Barbara.

It's always fun to get out of the city for a few days and while Santa Barbara is only a couple hours away, it definitely felt like we were on vacation. The gorgeous drive up the coast, walking through the cute shops on State Street (I found adorable cupcake papers at Sur la Table), delicious meals out, and a canopied king bed in a beautiful hotel suite to come home to (we stayed at The Canary Hotel). We enjoyed a Sunday brunch in the hotel with live jazz music. I ordered lemon ricotta pancakes and he the eggs benedict - both delicious!

{the hotel lobby}

{crisp white linens. hotel beds are my favorite!!}

{I loved the star lanterns in the bathroom, although you can't really see them in this picture}

The decor of the hotel was done in classic Santa Barbara style: white walls with arched openings, Mediterranean red tiling, blue ceramics, and colored accents. I love that breezy California style and actually decorated our house in a similar aesthetic.

Decor aside, what was truly best about this weekend was just being together, the memories made, the good laughs..

And now... back to Monday!

I Love My Keurig!

My boyfriend, who loves all things electronic and gadgety, has been pining away for a Keurig coffee machine, which brews single cups of coffee and tea. At $250, I thought this purchase may be slightly unnecessary. Plus, I am a big coffee drinker (2-5 cups depending on my day), so I was a little skeptical about this contraption. I like having a big pot of coffee ready in the morning...

But one Sunday afternoon, we found ourselves at Bed, Bath, & Beyond armed with 20% off coupons and decided to buy one! And I must admit, I absolutely love this thing!

It's so easy to use. Looks great in the kitchen. And the little "k-cup"choices are endless (and adorable)! Regular, decaf, chai latte, organic dark brew, apple cider, hazelnut coffee, Wolfgang Puck coffee.. it's really so much fun.

Just thought I'd share... we love our Keurig machine and have been sipping happily ever after!

My Prayers Have Been Answered!

So I've been on the hunt for a good dealer.

Girl Scout Cookies that is...

Searching high and low for 9 year olds to slang me some Thin Mints! It seemed that everywhere I turned, someone was eating or ordering girl scout cookies! Friends, acquaintances, Facebook statuses! Even my boyfriend said "oh ya my boss' niece came into the office selling them the other day" to which I replied (screamed) "AND DID YOU ORDER SOME!!!!!?", "Oh. no. sorry babe.. I missed it, I was on a conference call". Ughhhh!!! (useless!!! anger face/disappointment/fatty).

I even heard a rumor that some girl scouts were going to be at the Whole Foods in the Pacific Palisades on Sunday... I was even willing to drive there to find out. Until...

I received a glorious email from my sister.

Subject: Alexis your prayers have been answered.
Email: fwd: Girls Scouts will be in the building lobby today from 2-4.

YESSS!!!!! Amazing! Finally!!! Now I have to meet up with my sis to get them. I know they'll be worth it!

Do you have a favorite Girl Scout cookie?

Hello Sephora

Hello Kitty has made its way to our favorite store Sephora!

The new collaboration includes a complete collection of cosmetics, nail polish, fragrance, and accessories starting from $5 for nail art and upwards of $350 for a Swarovski crystal hand mirror.

We love Helly Kitty, as noted here, here, and here... but I think I may stick with my tried-and-true MAC, Maybelline, and Stila cosmetics. What do you think?
Apple Cheeks Blush $22, Sweet Gloss Lip Gloss $16, Big Smile Lip Gloss $16

Nail Polish $10 each

Nail Art Stickers $5 per pack

Skinny Tees

Hey guys! Check this out!

Skinny Tees is gonna be on Groupon!!!

The Groupon is $25 for $50 worth of merch and it starts Sunday.

I have two skinny tees and I am obsessed with them. Not only are they super slimming but they're one size fits all and made of a great stretchy soft fabric (and way less expensive then American Apparel/Splendid/C&C).

I have the Skinny Tees camisole in black and cobalt blue. They're perfect for layering because they're long, comfy enough to sleep in, and just the right amount of sexy to wear for a dressy night out! Plus, my order came with a cute tote bag! LOVES IT!!

Quote of the Day

"Later that day I got to thinking about relationships. There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well, that's just fabulous".

Oh My Goooooodnessss!

{This post is dedicated to the Emkin sisters}

There is so much to discuss on so many levels. And there is so much that I want to know! Is that her jacket or an adult shrug? Was her faux-hawk styled by Chris McMillain? Is she at Fashion Week? Does she like Hello Kitty or is that for "common folk"? Does she want a mommy? Will she be my friend? Can I scoop her up and wheel her around in Vuitton luggage? Can I feed her fine cheeses?

In short... where can I get one?! ahhh!!!

HeArt 2 Haiti

Last Saturday night, my friend Lisa invited me out to an event called HeArt 2 Haiti, an art opening at Gallery KM in Santa Monica. The party was to bennefit the orphans of Haiti by raising money via party tickets and art sales to buy food and art supplies (my two areas of expertise! hehe) for the children devasted by the natural disaster.

I bought a collage made by a young Haitian orphan. How could I not. For one, the piece is fabulous - could be worth millions one day, and two I had just spent a butt-load of money at my art supplies store without batting an eyelash (well, actually I did bat my eyelashes at the awkward teenage clerk to receive a 10% student discount - technically not a student anymore. I mean I am a student of life...but no longer have a collegiate email address). Anyway, I digress!

The hor d'oeuvres served at the gallery were from The Bazaar of The SLS Hotel (great restaurant by the way). My favorite was cherry tomatoes on watermelon with fresh basil and vinaigrette. Who would have thought that watermelon + tomato salad would be a great combination! Delish!

I was stalking the servers with their hor d'oeuvres trays like a lion on a mouse, following them around and constantly switching spots in the gallery to be sure to get new waiters (imagine Pacman eating the dots, that was me snaking in and out of the crowd to get to the food).

The evening was so much fun and tomorrow I will be stopping by the gallery to pick up my new mitzvah masterpiece. I can't wait! I think I will hang it in my studio for inspiration and as a reminder to be grateful for what I have.

A Must Visit

Soto!

My new favorite store!

The clothes are adorable and affordable. Think higher quality Forever21 meets the charm and layout of a small boutique.

I bought an ombre white-to-grey "butterfly wing" sleeved sweater and a very Cameron Diaz-esque beige and red slouchy top (for $34!)

LOVE!!! IN LOVE with this store!!! Will be visiting again soon (like may go back tomorrow)!! Eee! Plus other shoppers are raving about it on Yelp.

Happy weekend everyone!
