Last night I fell asleep on the couch at around 10:30pm while watching 30Rock. I was in a pink-sauce-pasta induced food coma. Anyway, when I woke up at 1:30 to collect my boyfriend (playing video games in his man cave aka office) THIS SONG, video below, was playing on TV. I had heard it before, but wasn't sure who it was.

This morning, I woke up with a smile and a craving (like the kind after a great first date) with an inkling that the heavenly song was by Adele. Behold, I itunes'd it and I was correct.

Britney Will Always Be My Idol

Tonight we (bf & I) were driving to dinner (Peppone's in Brentwood) to celebrate my sister passing the Series7 exam (which is like passing the bar but in the world of finance) when I was listening to holiday music on the radio.. a Britney Spears rendition of a holiday song... and it made me reflect on...

How much I love Britney.

I really do. I am so grateful for Brit. She is my number 1 - always will be (#2-5: Lady GaGa, Brigitte Bardot, Madonna, Carrie Bradshaw).

I've met Britney twice. The first time she was in her prime, she was wearing a cut off wife beater, low rise pants and a fedora. This was at a private party. We were sitting together at a small table of 5. She bummed a cigarette from me. I randomly had Cartier cigarettes with me. As I handed her a cig and a light I secretly died inside. OMG!!!! The second time she was kind of a hot mess (but we don't judge) with black hair, drunk at LAX nightclub.

Anyway, my eternal love for Brit inspired me to share this shrine of pics with y'all. Enjoy!

Lady Gaga graces the cover of Vogue Hommes Japan in drag as her male persona, 'Jo Calderone' (Joanne is Gaga's middle name). The shoot was styled by Gaga's stylist, Nicola Formichetti and photographed by Nick Knight.

Vogue writer Jo-Ann Furniss asks 'Jo',

"What is your relationship with Lady Gaga?", to which Jo answers,

"I met her at a shoot Nick Knight was doing. She’s fuckin beautiful, and funny, and interesting. I was a little nervous for Nick to start shooting. She said, “Don’t be baby, you were “born this way.” I took her out after. The rest is private".

Oooh so mysterious! I love Gaga and I'd love to watch her have sex with her alter ego Jo!! Is that weird?

Jazz On A Warm Summer Night

My boyfriend and I have been busy entertaining his parents who are visiting from the East Coast. Since they only come once a year, we like to show them a good time. This means getting out of our often routine weekends (Sushi Roku+Dexter on DVD) and finding fun and exciting things to do.

This weekend, we went to the Hollywood Bowl to see Harry Connick Jr. perform live jazz music alongside the LA Philharmonic Orchestra. It was a gorgeous summer night filled with great music and good company. Harry Connick Jr. sang classics like 'It Had To Be You' and 'The Way You Look Tonight'. I almost melted! I'm such a hopeless romantic.

The next day we drove to Laguna Niguel where we ate lunch at a beach side restaurant and walked around the shops and art galleries. I was sure to stop by The Candy Baron to make myself a custom bag of gummies for the ride home.

Okay first thing's first. This is a friggin' beautiful song! I'm sorry but it is. I was and still am a major pop fan: Britney, Christina, Spice Girls, NSync, Backstreet Boys... Have no shame about it. I mean who didn't 'play' Spice Girls at school! And no one ever wanted to be Sporty.. A shame.

I was 13 years old when this NSync song came out. Coming home after school, making Kraft Macaroni and Cheese, and watching TRL while doing homework was what it was all about in 1998.

How do I NOT remember JT sprinkling feathers to the ground or that bubbling cauldron!!!

Florence + The Machine's "Dog Days Are Over" is heaven for your ears. Its' sound is so special and beautiful that it awakens your soul from deep inside.

I was playing it on repeat and dancing (my secret "African tribal" dances) in my art studio. Thank God no one can see me in there! I just get so excited and inspired.. I have to dance it out!

At first I didn't really like her (out of jealousy: because blondes secretly hate hot brunettes with good bodies). BUT she has been turning out great hits and her style persona has really evolved! I like.

Sia's new album, We Are Born, is my new jam. Seriously legit.

I've been a Sia fan ever since I heard the decadently emo "Breathe Me" on HBO's Six Feet Under back in the day (best show ever by the way). However, We Are Born takes my adoration to a whole new level. Part pop, part alternative. These tracks have amazing beats and gorgeous lyrics.
